Every cap period we have recorded, with the unit rate and standing charge for both fuels. Each row carries the Ofgem URL it was read from and the date it was read, and a recorded row is never edited.

England, Scotland and Wales average, Direct Debit. Regional and payment variation is real and is not in this table because we have not sourced it; when we do, it will arrive as extra columns rather than as adjusted numbers.
Why the series is short
Ofgem publishes the current and next period on its rates page. It does not expose an earlier machine-readable series at any URL we can reach, and its data portal renders client-side and serves no cap dataset. Reconstructing older periods from memory or from a third party would have made this table longer and worth less.
So it starts here and grows by one period a quarter. In a year it is a genuine history that was recorded rather than remembered.
