Tipking publishes the figures behind its own pages as open data. Every row carries the URL it came from and the date it was read, the assumptions are columns rather than footnotes, and nothing is back-filled. Free to reuse with attribution.

The datasets

Dataset Appliance running costs 18 appliances costed at each recorded cap period. Per use, per week, per year, with the wattage basis and the usage assumption in the data. How this is built, and what it is not

The series starts where our sourcing starts. Ofgem publishes the current and the next cap period on its rates page and does not expose an earlier machine-readable series anywhere we can read: its data portal renders client-side and serves no cap dataset. We could have reconstructed older periods from memory or from a third party. We have not, because the only thing a dataset has going for it is that it can be trusted, and a short honest series beats a long invented one.

So the series currently holds 2 recorded periods and gains one each quarter, each added by reading the Ofgem page and recording the URL and the date. Recorded periods are never edited.

Wattages are typical for the appliance class, not lifted from a named model whose rating plate we have not read. That is a column in the data, not a disclaimer. Usage is an assumption and is also a column, so you can substitute your own and recompute rather than having to accept ours.
