Baking soda facial scrub

Try Baking Soda (Bicarbonate of soda) as an invigorating, yet gentle, facial scrub. Apply a paste of 3 parts Baking Soda to 1 part water in a gentle circular motion after washing face with soap and water. Rinse clean for a fresh-scrubbed face

Baking soda may help to dry out blackheads so they will pop out easier when you squeeze them. It really does make your skin feel smoother and exfoliated.

Also just dab a bit on your spots daily and leave for 10-25 minutes and in a week or so your face will be pimple free.

And it’s fantastic! I do it daily, by using my facial cleanser with baking soda mixed in. Also – scrub your skin with baking soda and shower gel in the shower before shaving

Massage Olive Oil on the face first (to dissolve wax deposits in black heads) and then use bicarbonate of soda as a face pack over the top and leave for 10 mins. Afterwards the Olive Oil is completely removed by the bicarbonate of soda after a rinse with warm water and your blackheads are seriously given a clean out.

After cleansing your face, just use a small amount of baking soda, and a touch of water to make a paste, and “GENTLY”, work the paste around your face in circular motions, then rinse with 3 splashes of warm water (not hot) and 3 splashes of cool water

Banana Face Pack – Lovely and soothing for dry skin

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tsp. almond oil
  • 1 ripe banana

Method

Combine everything in a bowl and mush into a paste with a fork. Apply this to face and leave on for 20 minutes. Remove with cool water and pat dry

Bath and Beauty without High Prices

If you just love pampering yourself, and taking long hot baths, you are just going to love this article. In this article, I want to tell you all about how to make your life so much better, trying new and exciting products in your bath that are going to relax, and excite you at the same time.

For any recipe in this article, feel free to add more ingredients to make scents stronger, to mix various types of ingredients to make a totally new scent, and don’t forget to make some for another person you know who might need to relax as well!

Raspberry bath

A raspberry bath is a very sweet smelling bath that will relax your mind as you soak in a hot tub. If you like, you can also boil a bit of this solution for a great smell that will enhance your entire house without having to cost a lot at the same time. I know someone who will use her bath solutions in a potpourri container over a tea candle just because she loves the smell of the bath oils over what scents are available in candles. You can be the judge for yourself.

Raspberry bath scents are achieved by using six ounces of your favorite unscented soap, (shampoo or hand soap as you like), add a teaspoon of water to lighten the soap a little, and then add ten drops of raspberry oil. This is a very strong solution that will leave your bathroom, your tub and you smelling just wonderful and sweet! Add a few squirts to your hot water and you are ready for a great relaxing time.

Let’s make a little of your own soap – oatmeal soap that is!

One thing that is for certain, making your own soap can be an exciting and wonderful time, as you learn to use natural ingredients to make all types of scents and shapes of soap, even the colors of your soap can be changed, to meet your personal needs. We will discuss soaps briefly here, but you can find many more articles through TipKing about making soap and homemade soaps that you will just love.

Be sure when you are making soap, working with hot and extreme temperatures that you are careful not to burn yourself or put anyone else in danger. It is a little different from baking or cooking on the stove, and the smells are great, but the temperatures are very high. After making and working with new soap you will have to leave it sit for about a month to cure nicely and in the shape you would like.

You might want to open a window and wear gloves when you are working with and making soap so you are not splashed or burnt. There are all types of scents, oils and types of soap you can make, but let’s go back to the oatmeal.

What you need is, ten to twelve ounces of palm oil, four to six ounces of coconut oil, three ounces of olive oil, half a cup of oatmeal put in the processor, two ounces of lye, a cup of water, and any type of additional scent that makes you feel great when you smell it.

To make oatmeal soap you are going to mix the lye and water, and then set it aside. You will next need to melt your palm and coconut oil together and then set it aside as well. In yet another bowl you want to mix your olive oil and your oatmeal. Going back and heating your lye to 100 degrees, you want to heat your oils in a separate bowl at the same time. As it is all melted and stirred well, you can mix it together and pour into a container for your molds if you like. You will need to let your soap sit in the molds for at least twenty four hours, but forty eight hours is even better.

Some people like to put their soaps in large containers, and then use them slowly in bigger bars. The bigger bars that you like to make and use, the more ingredients you will need. The more ingredients you need, the more you purchase at one time, the less expensive your overall price is in making each bar of soap. For smaller bars, smaller molds, and smaller batches, the more expensive your soap is going to be to make.

Pampering yourself while at home does not have to be expensive. You can make and enjoy at home beauty products with low and no cost methods that are going to leave you enjoying your pampering time, and that will make your skin, and your body feel great at the same time. Soaps, lotions and scents are all a part of making you feel good and these are the types of products we are going to talk about in this article.

Oatmeal soap is just one type of soap that is going to leave you with a soft and glowing skin that feels as good as it looks. To make oatmeal soap you will need a few goodies, but feel free to make changes in the ingredients that you use in making your own oatmeal soap. In making my oatmeal soap I use about ten ounces of palm oil, four ounces of coconut oil, three ounces of olive oil, about a half cup of oatmeal, and a cup of water along with three ounces of lye.

What you are going to do first take your oatmeal and run it through the food processor so iit is very fine, small pieces that will mix nicely. You are going to mix your lye and water, and heating it together. Set this aside and let it cool to a temperature that you can work with.

Next you are going to need to mix and melt your palm oil and coconut oil together in a pan. After this is melted and mixed together you are going to set this aside and let it cool down. Mix your olive oil, and oatmeal. You are going to mix your lye mixture and your oils together and heat in a pan. Stir this mixture together until it is mixed well. This is when you will add your oat mixture and your scents if you are interested in making scented oatmeal soaps. Pour it into the mold and then let these molds cool for at least forty eight hours. Trim as needed to make your best shapes.

Olive oil soap is another type of soap that is used by many people who love a little pampering. Olive oil soap is one that is much easier to make than most soaps as there are very few ingredients. Your ingredients are as follows, sixteen ounces olive oil, the purer, the better. Use two ounces of lye, and six ounces of water. Heat your olive oil to a minimum of a hundred and forty degrees. Add the lye and then the water, while stirring the entire time you are heating it. It is important to mix with a wood spoon.

After mixing all of your goodies together, stirring well, and pouring into the molds, let your soaps cool for about two days and then you can pull them out of the molds and trim them for use in your own private personal time.

Do you want to pamper yourself without taking the time to make soap? You can make a lavender milk bath that you can enjoy one evening for a quiet moment. What you need is a bathtub of hot water, two cups of powdered milk, a few drops of your favorite scented oils, and about an hour to enjoy it.

Mixing the powdered milk, and two or three drops of your favorite oil scents, your bath becomes a luxurious spa for your enjoyment.

Using your oatmeal soaps is one of your many favorite pampering things to do. If you enjoy oatmeal and the effects of using oatmeal on your skin, you would most likely enjoy taking a long oatmeal milk bath. What you need is a half cup of oats, chopped finely, a cup of powdered milk and a few drops of your favorite scented oils.

Using your tub of hot water, add the powdered milk, and a few drops of your favorite scents. When you are in the tub, you can add the oats, washing your skin with the oats as you add them, giving you the fullest effects of the bath, the oats and scents at the same time.

Home Made Body and Hand Lotions

Hand lotions and body lotions are more than beauty products are more than just a way to make your look better, products such as these are also used to make your body feel better, which gives your mind and spirit an overall lift as well. Hand and body lotions are used to make your skin softer, and make you feel younger at the same time.

Homemade lotions and cosmetics are a way to save money in getting what you want to use daily in your life, but another important aspect is that you know exactly what is being put into the lotions and cosmetics that you use on your body, preventing the use of possible problem additives and preservatives you don’t like to have and use on your own body.

Homemade lotions and cosmetics also give you the option to know what you are using on your child, or on the person who is highly allergic to certain additives and preservatives that are often used in lotions and cosmetics on the market today.

What you might be surprised to find out is that across the TipKing.com site is that we have various products that you can make, enjoy, and find a huge savings on. While you might only see a few articles here in this section there are a huge number of other tips and ideas on the site that will help you in your quest to make homemade products for your home.

Right now let’s take a look at hand creams. Hand creams are a little different than what you use on your face and the rest of your body, your hands are always taking a beating, in the sun, in the water, and in the heat of all that you do. Hand lotions are meant to put the moisture back into the skin, preventing wrinkles and discolorations.

To make hand lotion you will start with a lotion made with a glycerin base. To do this you want to use two ounces of soap, melted flakes works nicely if you have no other soft soap product that you know what the ingredients are you will also need six ounces of glycerin, and twenty ounces of rubbing alcohol and a bit of distilled water. Rubbing alcohol in making hand lotion should be at least a 70% mixture for the best possible results when using your hand lotion.

What you are going to start with is mixing fifteen ounces of distilled water with the rubbing alcohol. What you are going to do next is mix in the soft soap or soap flakes, until the soap is dissolved in the water completely. Adding the glycerin you will stir the mixture as it becomes a little thicker.

Your hand lotion can be of any scent that you like. You can add a few oil drops of your favorite scent and your lotion will bring on a whole new feeling for you. If you would like, you can collect small bottles and make lotions of several different scents that you can give as gifts.

There are other types of things that you can add to your hand lotions, such as a mixture of oils, or you can add honey. Honey makes your lotions thicker and it also add additional healing properties that are all natural for body in the lotion.

Almonds are another ingredient that you can add to your homemade lotions. Almonds that are chopped and finely pureed will add a scent to your lotion that you will love, as well as adding additional healing ingredients for your skin and body. In some retail outlets you will find almond extracts, almond oils and almond creams that you can easily add to your lotion while realizing the natural ingredients of the almond in your lotion.

If you would like to add honey to your homemade hand lotion, what you are going to do is heat the honey until near boiling, let it cool, and then add to your lotion mixture. Honey in the natural state can contain some amount of wax that you will want to be melted into the honey for the best skin protection.

Additional materials that you can add to your hand lotions include mineral oil and olive oil in small amounts. You only need a few drops of either of these components to create the hand lotion that will make your rough hands soft and supple without upping the price of making your own homemade hand lotion.

Heat until thick and clear; it will have the consistency of pudding. Do not boil. Cool completely, Use in place of soap to cleanse your skin. (If jelly is too thick, you may think it by adding a little water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach the desired consistency.

If you have tea tree oil or rosemary extract you could put a drop in to help preserve it.

Hair Instant hair conditioner, frizz serum

When your hair a little bit damp after washing, put a small dab of castor oil in your palm and rub you palms together to heat the oil. Then just pat the oil onto your tips and damaged areas. It does a better job than my expensive instant conditioner

Make your own fruity lip-gloss

To make your own fruity lip-gloss

  • 1 tsp aloe vera gel
  • 1 tsp vaseline
  • 2-3 drops flavoured oil (your choice)

Mix aloe vera gel with vaseline, then add flavored oil. Transfer to a small container. Now, you have a wonderful homemade lip gloss!

Make your own hair removal wax

To make your own hair removal wax (like Nads) you need:

  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup sugar

In a microwavable bowl, put all of the ingredients on high for 3-4 minutes. You can put it on the stove too, but there’s a chance of burning it. When it cools down, use it like hot (or cold) wax! You will find all the hair you want to remove comes off.

How to prepare recipe and directions for waxing

Squeeze juice from 1/2 lemon into a bowl, add 1/2 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup honey. Mix well then microwave for 3 minutes.

DO NOT place directly on skin, wait until you are able to touch with your fingers without burning them.

Apply with a flat surfaced item like a tongue depressor or Popsicle stick. When applying, apply in a thin layer about 6 inches long and 2 inches wide following the growth of your hair (downwards).

Apply a strip of cotton material leaving about 1 inch at the bottom so that you have something to grab onto. Cotton strip means something like old jeans. I cut and use old jeans and find that is the best. Cut the legs off of jeans, then cut that into strips of about 8 inches long and 4 inches wide. The inside part of the jeans seems to absorb the wax better, so place on your waxed area with inside of jean material on that. Smooth or rub the material onto the wax firmly so there is good contact. Pinch or grab hold of bottom of cloth and pull/rip upwards and quickly in an upwards motion.

Always apply wax in the direction of the hair growth, and always remove strip in the opposite direction and at a 45 degree angle.

TipKing Says: The instructions do say that it needs to be allowed to cool. Then it says that you can use it like hot or cold wax. The recipe is suggesting you use it then like regular hot or cold wax.

Make your own lip-gloss

To make your own lipgloss you need:

  • vaseline
  • eye shadow (find a colour you like)
  • olive oil

Smear vaseline on your lips then add the eye shadow, blending in well. Then add a tiny bit of olive oil to make your lips shiny.

Multi-purpose skin cream

Mix a white-based lotion (lubriderm is best), cocoa powder and baby powder in a bowl for a multipurpose beauty product. It will look like pudding when done. Not only does it give an instant tan. It can be used as a foundation, concealer, liquid eye shadow or applied as lip creme for a natural pout. Over time it makes your skin soft and smoother.

For foundation:

Spread it on REALLY thin and rub in until it is almost dry. Add a tiny dab of Vaseline on over to seal it in.

For eye shadow:

Use a q-tip and put on eyelid, matte lightly with powder & cotton ball.

For Concealer

For concealer, rub on under eyes where cheekbone is and lightly rub in with cotton ball. Don’t rub it all the way in, because it gives a glow under the eyes.

For Lipstick

For lipstick, rub on with finger or qtip around lips. It takes to natural lip form and enhances natural tint to lips. Can dab a tiny bit of powder over if necessary. Then a dab of Vaseline. You’ll notice it shows off your natural pout. Do not lick lips and DON’T EAT IT! IT smells YUMMY, but remembers, there’s lotion and powder in there!

If you use it overnight often, you’ll notice a natural shine, tint and healthy looking skin. Works for any race or color.

Make petroleum Jelly lip gloss

Buy Petroleum jelly from the dollar store (usually a dollar for a big container)and put 2 tablespoons of Petroleum jelly in a microwavable container. Melt it until it is really soft, but not all the way liquid.

Make your own tasty lip gloss

Get some petroleum and jelly, mix in some food flavouring and lipstick/food colouring. You don’t need to put anything in the petroleum, its only if you want to.
